ArtèFOTO – 1st NATIONAL FESTIVAL OF PHOTOJOURNALISM
Wednesday 23rd April –10.00am
@ Cis - via Fornace 25 Moie di Maiolati Spontini (AN)

Cis srl, in-house providing company based on the participation of 12 communes of the middle Esino Valley, and Angeliribelli Lab Cultural Association organize ArtèFoto – 1st National Festival of Photojournalism from 30th May to 8th June 2008.
The festival is a captivating occasion to discover the Esino Valley and meet some of the major world wide known photoreporters such as
Francesco Cito, Andrew Testa, Jean Michel Clajot, Sergio Ramazzotti, Chris De Bode, Kadir Van Lohuizen and Tomas Van Houtryve.

The exhibitions will take place in the communes of Cupramontana, Maiolati Spontini, Montecarotto, Monteroberto, Serra San Quirico and Staffolo. Furthermore several local country-houses will host a series of workshops held by photojournalists and photography professionals. ArtèOff will be added to the programme.

In other neighbouring countries photojournalism dedicated festivals have a consolidated past; in France, for instance, Perpignan’s Festival Visa Pour L’Image will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year. This shows not only the existing gap between Italy and the rest of Europe as for information and attention on specific matters of out time, but also the limited offer that Italy proposes on information levels.
On a small scale our intention is to do our best to fill this gap.

Press Conference @ CIS Srl in Via Fornace n., on 23rd April 2008 at 10.30am @ Moie di Maiolati Spontini- Press conference to present the programme and the idea of the festival. [Mauro Luminari: CIS srl Press Office- tel: +39 338/300219]

02.04.2008 | ArtèFoto Festival Presentation

With the fifth edition of Artè Festival Angeliribelli Lab looks at photojournalism.
Since its early days Angeliribelli Lab has always set its main goal on communication and tried to deliver it through cultural events; after the previous editions dedicated to music and theatre, this year the attention will be drawn on photography conceived as a renewed mean of primary communication.

The 2008 edition will focus on 7 high level exhibitions carried out by professional photojournalists, more or less internationally known to the wide public.
All the photographic works show a deep impact on contemporary reality.
The exhibitions will be set inside beautiful historical venues and picturesque landscapes adequately lit up and organized.

As for all the previous festivals the venue itself will suggest the most suitable exhibition and event.
Both the photographers and other photography experts have been invited to hold workshops and|or round tables in the beautiful country houses which are located in the area around the exhibitions locations.

Artè festival aims at becoming one of the main photojournalism festivals in Italy and to fulfil its aspiration Angeliribelli Lab seeks the cooperation of Boards, Institutions and private sponsorships that are willing to link their name to this kind of event.
With no doubts the desirable growing dimension of such a festival will generate a considerable impact on the territory from an economic and tourist point of view.
